C

Programming in C

First pass, ongoing

C is deceptive. I've written a lot of C-like code by now, but GATE's output-prediction questions on pointers and structures still catch me off guard more often than I'd like to admit.

Most of my time here is spent tracing through short, deliberately confusing programs by hand, on paper, without running them — since that's exactly what the exam asks for.

Topics I'm covering

  • Pointers & Memory
  • Arrays & Strings
  • Recursion
  • Structures & Unions
  • Output-Prediction Questions
  • Dynamic Memory Allocation

PYQ notes

Pointer-arithmetic output-prediction questions are the single type I still get wrong most consistently.

From the journey

Day 8

A Corporate Monday, Some C Mistakes, and a Plan for October

Analysed the second C Programming test, noted careless mistakes, and planned more question practice.

Day 7

A Slow Sunday and My Struggle With Test Time Management

Completed the second C Programming subject-wise test and scored 32 out of 45.

Day 1

Learning to Trust My Own Answers

Took a C Programming test, scored 26 out of 50, and started working on the habit of checking answers with AI.

Day 2

DFA Done, But Not Everything Goes According to Plan

Continued with Theory of Computation, completed DFA, and started a Data Structures test before stopping because I was unwell.
